ARTIST INFO

SPOONBILL (Omlette, Creative Vibes)

www.spoonbill.net.au

www.myspace.net/spoonbillsound

Spoonbill is Jim Moynihan, an accomplished sound designer who makes an elegant and quirky symphony of honey-scented grooves, jovial humour and joyous beat trickery, melding an ever-evolving array of styles into a distinctive ozzie blend. He leads you through an eccentric wonderland of glitched-out grooves infused with talkback radio and rowdy bush cobbers.

Following the successful release of his debut album Megafauna, Melbourne-based Spoonbill presents his second album: Nestegg. His latest call from the wild is both cerebral sonic entertainment and smoothly-beaten groove, coming together as a heavily edited fusion of live recorded instrumentation and fabricated electronica.

The Spoonbill live show for Gooble 6 includes guest musician Bryson Mulholland on keyboards and flute), and King Aphid providing synchronised live video projection.

SEGUE

www.myspace.com/seguesound

Pronounced seg-way, a musically smooth, uninterrupted transition from one theme or composition to another.

For Segue, the name is an apt description of both their union and musical philosophy. Leo Hede and Dave ‘Dri’ Ryan started together as a side-project in early 2006. We may be more familiar with their membership of former local acts, Leo with Statler & Waldorf, and Dave with Superfluid.

Sensing a musical change in the wind and recognising the growing similarities between their music, the duo put together an improvised set at an outdoor event on a Queensland beach in late 2005. The duo’s fusion of progressive techno and broken electro blended immediately, and thus Segue was born.

With their release schedule taking shape and an interplanetary assault already afoot, Segue are more than just a blip on the radar.

TRISTAN BOYLE (aka Phat Kontrollerz, Melb)

www.myspace.com/tristanboyle

Tristan Boyle and Dennis Fredericks formed Phat Kontrollerz in 2002. Both bring something unique to this project, Dennis’ background in techno and house, and Tristan, his taste in jazz and psychedelic trance. The result is a progressive sound that is sure to please an audience who like it deep, hard, funky and phat.
Phat Kontrollerz have released tracks on the
Melbourne owned, Zenon records, and Fabula Records in Italy

Tristan will perform his own compositions along with reworked Phat Kontrollerz tracks.

TASTE OF TEA

www.myspace.com/tasteoftea

Driven by burning percussive and organic dance rhythms, ToT fuse modern grooves with sounds of the Japanese underground. They have carved a unique voice in Brisbane and the South East with a string of acclaimed festival and club shows.

Recently, he has also joined with Dakini performing "Mokini" for opening ceremony's and chill spaces,
Mopoke brings the unique majick of the Australian tropics, playing a mixture of deep temple beats, ambient soundscapes, drum and space and micro beats with a taste of dub.

GHETTAFUNKT (gi’iwa, NNSW)

www.gi’iwa.com

www.myspace.com/ghettafunkt

Ghettafunkt aka Peta is known for her Phat, Funky & Fukt up sets!! Her diverse taste in music combines phat bass lines, broken beats and twisted melodies. Peta's *slightly* left of centre sets will leave you wondering "What the fuNkt was that?"
Ghettafunkt's unique style has seen her play in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, Nth NSW & in 2005 when she travelled abroad djing in Romania @ Transylvania Calling Festival, Omni Festival in Spain and numerous gigs in the U.K.
